We celebrated World Elephant Day with two very special guests. Elephant experts Dominique Gonçalves and Joyce Poole sat down (virtually, of course!) to discuss their work researching Gorongosa’s elephants.

Dominique Gonçalves
Dominique is a Mozambican ecologist focused on elephant conservation in Gorongosa National Park. She manages Gorongosa’s Elephant Ecology Project where she investigates elephant movement and range expansion in relation to habitat use and Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC).
Joyce Poole
Joyce is one of the world's leading experts in elephant behavior and the co-founder of ElephantVoices. She has a Ph.D. in elephant behavior from Cambridge University and has studied the social behavior and communication of elephants for over 40 years, dedicating her life to their conservation and welfare.
